Ucell marks its 8th anniversary in Uzbek market

Mobile operator COSCOM is marking the eighth anniversary of its operation under Ucell brand in Uzbekistan on 16 June.
COSCOM started its work in Uzbekistan in April 1996 and started to provide mobile communication services on GSM 900/1800 standards.

From 2007, COSCOM became part of TeliaSonera and started to provide service under Ucell brand. From 2008, the company began investments to improve quality of services via introducing new equipment. The company directed US$1.2 billion investments so far, which helped to increase number of base stations from 500 to 4,000.

Currently, the mobile operator provides services to 9 million subscribers. Its 2G network is available for over 95% population of Uzbekistan, 3G network – 46% of population. Over 3 million people use mobile internet.
