Number of base stations in Uzbekistan exceeds 16,500 units

Currently, over 16,500 base stations are operating in Uzbekistan, Ministry of Development of Information Technologies and Communications of Uzbekistan.
The material said number of mobile users rose by 7.5 times in last ten years. Earlier, it was reported that over 22.9 million subscribers use mobile services.

The ministry’s materials said that mobile communication was used only for communication in 10-15 years ago. Currently, the users receive information via mass media, communication with friends and relatives, share data, photos and videos, etc.

It added that the operators are constructing 4G mobile networks, which allow to further expand range of offered telecommunication services and improve access to high speed internet.

Currently, Beeline (GSM), Ucell (GSM), UMS (GSM), Uzmobile (GSM and CDMA) and Perfectum Mobile (CDMA) are providing mobile services in Uzbekistan.
