Gulistan district khokim sacked
On October 18, 2018, the extraordinary session of the Gulistan Regional Council of Deputies was held, the press service of Syrdarya regional administration reports.
During the meeting, Abdumavlon Ibodullayev, erstwhile khokim of Gulistan district, was dismissed from his post to be replaced by Shavkat Gafurov.
Abdumavlon Ibodullayev was appointed khokim of the district on April 28, 2017.
Mr. Gafurov, the new khokim of the district, was born in 1965 in Jizzakh region. In 1995, he graduated from Tashkent State Agrarian University. Since 2012 he has been working as the Director of Syrdarya Regional "Agrokimyohimoya" Joint Stock Company.
It is worth noting that on October 14, Uzbek Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov chaired a selector meeting on the issues of cotton harvesting, during which several prosecutors, chiefs of police departments and tax officers were dismissed in more than 10 districts due to their impassiveness in the cotton-harvesting period.
Following the selector meeting, khokims of Fergana and Urgench cities, Angren, Oltinkul and Fergana districts were also sacked.
