Uzbekistan, Iran eye to increase trade turnover up to $ 1 billion
Bakhodir Abdullayev, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to the Islamic Republic of Iran, said that increasing the trade turnover with the Western Asian country up to $ 1 billion is one of the main priorities of the Government of Uzbekistan.
He told this at a meeting with the representatives of Iranian private companies on Monday in Arak, Markazi province of Iran, Mehr News reported.
Noting the determinedness of the presidents of Uzbekistan and IRI to increase the trade turnover volume from $ 400 million to $ 1 billion at their last meeting in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, the ambassador stressed that achieving this goal is one of the priorities of Uzbek officials.
Speaking of the fact that the Markazi province of Iran is quite developed at manufacturing building materials, agricultural products, pharmaceuticals, oil and gas, Mr. Abdullayev added that Uzbekistan is ready to cooperate and increase the volume of trade with this province.
Within the framework of the visit, the Uzbek ambassador met with officials of the province and heads of several companies.
