Uzbek President signed a decree on improving information security sphere
The President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree “On measures to improve the system of control over the introduction of information technologies and communications, organization of their protection”.
It is noted in the document that despite the measures taken to develop ICTs in government bodies and organizations, a number of problems remain. They impede the implementation and effective functioning of the “E-Government” system, as well as counteraction of threats to the information sphere.
In order to solve these problems, the Inspectorate for control in the sphere of communication, informatization and telecommunication technologies and the Center for information security and assistance in ensuring public order (both were under the Ministry of Development of IT and Communications) are abolished.
Instead, they create:
• State Inspectorate for control in the field of informatization and telecommunications;
• Center for technical assistance;
• Center for assistance to public order of “Safe city” at the Ministry for the Development of IT and Communications.
From January 1, 2019, a new order will be introduced:
• conclusions on the technical tasks of information-communication technologies, hardware and software products, protection tools and other technical means which are coordinated with the Center;
• implemented and operated hardware and software products at information objects (except for state secrets) of state bodies and organizations, which are subject to mandatory certification and examination at the Center.
The State Inspectorate and the Center will be located in Tashkent, on Durmon Yuli Street, 31.
