“Uzbekneftegaz” clarifies the reduction of petrol prices in the country
During the ceremony of signing financial documents for the construction of the Uzbekistan GTL plant, Chairman of the Board of “Uzbekneftegaz” Bakhrom Ashrafkhanov explained how the cost of gasoline in the country will decrease and its deficit will be eliminated, Kun.uz correspondent reported.
Earlier, the President of Uzbekistan during his visit to the construction of the GTL plant in Kashkadarya region announced that cost of petrol would be reduced after the launch of the project.
“Today, Uzbekistan’s petrol is produced by two refineries in Bukhara and Fergana regions. They process the crude oil which is produced in Uzbekistan, however, the main part of it is being imported,” Mr. Ashrafkhanov said.
According to him, after the launch of the Uzbekistan GTL plant for producing synthetic liquid fuel, the country will begin production of its own jet fuel and diesel fuel. It will automatically prevent the import of large amounts of raw materials to produce these types of goods.
"As a result, we will be able to use part of the imported crude oil for the production of gasoline. This will necessarily lead to lower prices for petrol and oil products in general,” he concluded.
For information, in Uzbekistan, petrol costs have increased since November 16 of this year and retail price per liter has become: 4,000 sums (previously 3,800 sums), AI 91 - 4,500 sums (4,300), diesel fuel - 4,800 sums and ECO fuel - 4,900 sums.
