Negotiations on an expanded partnership agreement with the EU kicks off in Tashkent
The first round of negotiations on a draft agreement on expanded partnership and cooperation between Uzbekistan and the European Union started in Tashkent.
The EU delegation, led by Deputy Managing Director of the European External Action Service, Luc Devin, is currently visiting Uzbekistan for talks.
Until February 8, the working groups will hold consultations on issues such as trade, political dialogue and the protection of intellectual property included in the draft of the new agreement.
The document will replace the agreement on partnership and cooperation between Uzbekistan and the EU, which has been in force for 20 years (since July 1, 1999).
