Native of Uzbekistan sues the former president of Kyrgyzstan for removal of the nationality column in passports
Ex-president of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev and former head of the State Registration Service Tayirbek Sarpashev were sued for abolition of the fifth column in passports. The lawsuit was filed by a migrant Khaydarali Khalikov, 24.kg reports.
In the statement of claim, he indicated that in 2013 his family moved to Kyrgyzstan from Uzbekistan under the program “Kayrylman” and received citizenship.

“We wanted to preserve our nationality. But Atambayev and Sarpashev removed the column “Nationality” from passports – it is illegal. Please acknowledge this,” Khaydarali Khalikov said.
He estimated the damage to his family at 6 million soms (about 86,000 USD). A lawsuit was filed in the Alamedin district court.
