Ministry of Defense holds tactical exercises to eliminate conditional terrorists in the mountains (video)

The 45-day regular training camp with military personnel was held at the Mountain Training Center of the Ministry of Defense.

70-80% of the exercises were practical and were performed in conditions as close to real ones, the Ministry of Defense says.

“Tactical actions were carried out to eliminate the conditional illegal armed groups at an altitude of 2500-3000 meters above sea level in extreme mountain conditions,” the report reads.

Weather vagaries on the Ugom-Chatkal mountain range created a lot of difficulties. During the day, the air temperature dropped to 4-6 degrees below zero, and at night - to minus 20. Such unusual conditions, and even snow above the knees, became a real test for endurance, physical and moral-psychological training for servicemen.

The exercises also included classes in ski and fire training, overcoming mountain rivers, cliffs, rocky terrain and other mountain obstacles.
