Tashkent hosts consultations between Security Councils of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan
Extended scheduled consultations were held between the offices of the security councils of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, Kazinform reports with reference to the press service of Akorda.
During the negotiations, under the chairmanship of Assistant to the President - Secretary of the Security Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kalmukhanbet Kasimov and Secretary of the Security Council under the President of Uzbekistan Viktor Makhmudov, held with the participation of the heads of central state bodies, the current tasks of ensuring security were considered.
“The parties discussed issues of improving the efficiency of interaction between border services and customs authorities in countering smuggling and violations of customs legislation. The course of implementation of the roadmap for the reconstruction and modernization of checkpoints, highways and the arrangement of the adjacent territory on the Kazakh-Uzbek state border was considered,” the report says.
The parties also exchanged experience and recommendations in the field of preventing religious extremism. According to the results of the work, specific instructions were given to the relevant state bodies of the two countries.
