“Rashitjon Kadirov’s case is very complicated, there are many nuances and details” – Tashkent city criminal court

The chairman of the Tashkent city criminal court Bakhtiyor Islomov spoke about the case of Rashitjon Kadirov, “Zamon” TV program correspondents report about it.

According to Bakhtiyor Islomov, a total of 13 people have been prosecuted. They are charged under Articles 165 (extortion), 205 (abuse of power or official authority) and 210 (receiving a bribe) of the Criminal Code of the Republic.

“The criminal case is very complicated, there are many nuances and details. According to Article 204 of the Criminal Procedural Code, the length of the criminal proceedings at a court hearing has been extended up to four months. We have not yet done, there are still a lot of people who need to be interrogated. There are dozens of things to be checked, so the trial and investigation is still ongoing. After we adopt a relevant resolution, all details will be announced in the media,” the chairman of the court said.

It should be recalled that ex-Prosecutor General Rashitjon Kadirov was arrested in Tashkent on February 22, 2018. He was dismissed from office in April 2015.

In March of this year, it became known that at the next trial in the Yunusabad district criminal court of Tashkent, the state prosecutor brought new charges against the defendant Rashitjon Kadirov.

In May 2018, during the meeting in Andijan region, Shavkat Mirziyoyev said that the former Prosecutor General himself would tell everything on television: about corruption, “gray schemes”, etc.
