Official information on Uzbek citizens died and injured at the road accident in Jambyl provided
Three citizens of Uzbekistan were killed and another 12 were injured as a result of the overturned passenger bus on the Almaty-Tashkent highway in Jambyl region of Kazakhstan. The Ministry of Emergency Situations officially informed about it.
On April 20, at 5:09 am local time, at the 181-kilometer of the Almaty-Tashkent highway, a total of 11 people were killed and 29 wounded as a result of a traffic accident with participation of a Van Hool passenger bus carrying 47 people.
At first, Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev posted on his Twitter account that all the victims of the accident in Jambyl were citizens of Uzbekistan, but this post has been deleted after some time.
According to the Kazakh Ministry of Internal Affairs, 7 citizens of Kazakhstan, 3 citizens of Uzbekistan were killed in the tragedy, the other victim’s identity is not confirmed yet. Also, there were citizens of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan among the casualties.
Earlier, the Uzbek MFA reported that there was no information confirming the presence of Uzbek citizens among the victims of the traffic accident in Jambyl. According to it, 7 of the injured were Uzbeks from the Khorezm region and the Republic of Karakalpakistan and they were hospitalized.
