Tashkent to host Central Asian Internet Governance Forum on May 15-16
On May 15-16, the Ministry of IT and Communications together with the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Uzbekistan organizes the IV Central Asian Internet Governance Forum (CAIGF).
This year the main theme of the forum will be the development of the Internet to expand the capabilities of Central Asia, the Ministry of IT and Communications of Uzbekistan reported.
The primary focus of the forum is to organize and strengthen an open platform for discussing policy issues on the Internet governance in Central Asia and increase the participation of the CA states in shaping the global digital economy.
CAIGF is an open platform for discussing policy issues on the Internet governance in Central Asian countries, which annually brings together more than 200 participants – Internet governance specialists, representatives of ministries, communications administrations, law enforcement bodies, as well as international organizations, companies and research centers, from Central Asia, the CIS and Europe.
Within the framework of the forum, representatives of the expert community will discuss global and national approaches to the Internet governance, cyber-security issues and protection of critical infrastructure, development of the DNS industry and trends in the field of digital infrastructure.
