Seven people accused of attacking Murad Khanturayev face charges
In the Shaykhantakhur district criminal court, an open court hearing is held to consider a criminal case against seven men who are accused of attacking a mixed martial artist Murad Khanturayev.
The incident occurred on November 26, 2018. A group of unidentified black-masked men armed with rubber batons, beat him and stabbed him.
The Supreme Court provided Kun.uz with a list of the accused:
1. I. Abdulakhatov (born in 1991, Fergana region)
2. T. Azizov (born in 1992, Tashkent)
3. S. Akbarov (born in 1990, Tashkent)
4. S. Vadenov (born in 1992, Tashkent)
5. O. Sadykov (born in 1985, Tashkent)
6. S. Fatkhullaev (born in 1991, Tashkent)
7. Z. Saynazarov (born in 1988, Tashkent region)
All the accused, with the exception of the latter, are previously convicted.
The trial is chaired by the judge of the Shaykhantakhur district criminal court Akmal Ergashev and people's assessors B. Muslimov and M. Mirkhamidov.
The defendants are accused of committing a crime under paragraphs "a", "c" of part 4, Article 164 (robbery) of the Criminal Code.
During the trial, which began on April 12, 2019, the testimony of the defendants, the victims (M. Khanturayev, S. Zunnunov and I. Saidov) and some witnesses were heard.
Currently, investigation is underway. The remaining witnesses are being interviewed. The trial continues.
