KUN.UZ editorial office makes a statement on the incident with deputy khokim of Olmazor district A. Vahobov

The other day, it was reported that deputy khokim of the Olmazor district A. Vahobov threatened employees of the KUN.UZ editorial office.

Today, the press service of the Tashkent city administration published a video interview of A. Vahobov. At the interview, A. Vahobov made a claim that KUN.UZ correspondent Rahmatilla Isroilov had previously demanded land from him by racketeering and offered a large bribe in exchange.

KUN.UZ promptly carried out its own internal investigation into the allegations and appointed a service check against the correspondent R. Isrilov and other officials.

During the check, it was identified that Vahobov's accusations against the correspondent R. Isroilov were groundless. Apparently, they had never seen each other before. Isroilov, for the first time in his life, met the deputy khokim on August 14 and A. Vahobov was slandering.

In addition, during a face-to-face meeting on August 15, organized by the press service of the Tashkent city administration, Vahobov stated that he did not recognize KUN.UZ correspondent Rahmatilla Isroilov and saw him for the first time on the incident day (August 14). There are attesting audio recordings to prove it.

As the pre-investigation inspection is underway on this case, the documents (including relevant audio and video materials), collected during the service check, are forwarded to the Tashkent city prosecutor's office for further investigation.

In addition, the correspondent R. Isrilov told that he appealed to the Prosecutor General's Office through the virtual reception of the President of Uzbekistan, asking to take legal actions against the deputy khokim of the Olmazor district for his groundless accusations.

KUN.UZ editorial office has decided not to disclose further information on the subject in order not to interfere with the pre-investigation check process at the Tashkent city prosecutor's office, and also not to influence on the impartiality of the investigation process.
