Taxi driver steals nearly 60 million soums, which was supposed to be delivered to Kashkadarya
A taxi driver stole 57 million soums, which he was supposed to deliver from Tashkent to the Yakkabag district, Kashkadarya region, the press service of the Interior Ministry said.
On August 30, 2019, police department of the Chilanzar district of Tashkent received a message about the theft of a large amount of money.
“It became known that on August 8, a 42-year-old resident of the capital in a parking lot near the Tashkent shopping center asked a 38-year-old resident of the Yakkabag district, Kashkadarya region to take 57 million soums to the Guzar district of the Kashkadarya region,” the press service of the Interior Ministry said.
The driver did not deliver the money to the destination and spent it on his personal needs. Law enforcement officers managed to detain the driver.
A criminal case has been instituted against the offender. An investigation is underway.
