Uzbek judoka Khikmatullo Turayev becomes a Grand Prix winner

Today, September 21, the second day competitions of the Tashkent-2019 Judo Grand Prix tournament are concluded. Prize-winners among men’s weight category up to 73 kg have been announced.

At the final, Uzbek judokas Khikmatullo Turayev competed with Bekhruzi Khojazoda. Khikmatullo, who was losing the match, was able to even the score at the last second and secured the victory in the “Golden Score” minutes as per the competition rules.

Ukrainian A. Khomula and Turkish B. Ciloglu, Cuban M. Estrada and Swedish T. Makias competed for bronze. Representatives of Turkey and Cuba bagged the medals.

Also, in the weight category up to 63 kg among women, the Austrian judoka K. Untervurzaker defeated A. Barrios from Hungary and secured the gold medal. The third place was taken by British athletes L. Renshall and I. Shemesh.
