Media: Ex-Prosecutor General Otabek Murodov imprisoned
Former Prosecutor General of Uzbekistan Otabek Murodov has been imprisoned, Kun.uz source reports.
Reportedly, on September 18, he was summoned to interrogation as part of an investigation into the case of the former SSS head Ikhtiyor Abdullayev and from that day onwards remains at the pre-trial detention center.
Earlier, the PGO press service head Khayot Shamsutdinov said that the former Prosecutor General Otabek Muradov is interrogated on the case of the former State Security Service head Ikhtiyor Abdullayev.
“His actions are currently being considered in the criminal case against Ikhtiyor Abdullayev. At the moment, I cannot make further comments. As soon as we have official information, we will immediately inform you,” he said.
It should be recalled that on June 21, during the XX Senate plenary session, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev said that a criminal case was initiated against the former Prosecutor General of Uzbekistan Otabek Murodov.
For information, Murodov was appointed Prosecutor General in January 2018. Prior to that, he served as a state adviser to the President.
