Uzbekistan announces number of resident population
As of October 1, 2019, the resident population of Uzbekistan was 33.7 million. According to the State Statistics Committee, growth rate was 1.9% compared to last year.
The analysis shows that as of October 1, 2019, Samarkand region had the highest share in the total number of population of the country – 11.4%. It is followed by Fergana region – 11.1%, Kashkadarya region – 9.7% and Andijan region – 9.2%.
In January-September 2019, the natural growth of the population was 477,500 people and increased by 36,700 people compared to the corresponding period of 2018 (in January-September 2018 – 440,800 people).
