Akhmadboy’s case: Court announces verdict following third open trial
On October 28, 2019, the Kuyi Chirchik district court on criminal proceedings concluded the third open trial for defendants Akhmadjon Tursunboyev and others (total number of defendants – 16 people), and a verdict was announced.
As the official representative of the Supreme Court Aziz Obidov told Kun.uz, the trial was considered by Kh. Shermukhamedov, a judge of the Tashkent regional court on criminal proceedings.
The court conducted a comprehensive study of the criminal case materials. Akhmadjon Tursunboyev was found guilty of committing a crime under Part 3, Paragraph “a”, “b” of Article 168 of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan and he was sentenced to nine years in prison.
In addition, including a sentence imposed by the Tashkent Regional Criminal Court on May 20, 2019, his term of total imprisonment has been extended to 14 years and 3 months. Tursunboyev is obliged to pay 52,096,000 soums as a fine.
