Uzbekistan to begin gradual construction of multi-storey parking lots 

In Uzbekistan, a program on a phased construction of multi-storey parking lots will be developed. This is stated in the “Roadmap” project to provide traffic safety, prevent traffic accidents, create favorable conditions for road users and develop the material-technical base of the State Traffic Safety Service.

According to the document, it is planned to create favorable conditions in order to avoid traffic congestion and maintain safe movement of drivers and pedestrians in crowded areas.

At the same time, a draft program will be developed and submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers for the gradual construction of pedestrian and underground crossings, as well as multi-storey parking lots near populous markets, shopping centers, bus stations.

Deadline for execution is January 2020, responsible executives – the Committee for Roads under the Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Interior, Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakhstan, khokimiyats of the Tashkent city and regions.
