Customs officers detain a foreigner carrying an optic sight for Dragunov sniper rifle in Tashkent region

At the border customs post “S. Nadjimov” in Tashkent region, customs officers detained a man, who was carrying an optic sight for Dragunov sniper rifle, the press service of the State Customs Committee reported.

While inspecting the baggage of the man, who arrived from the neighboring country, one optic sight for Dragunov sniper rifle, which was not declared during an oral questioning by customs officers, was found.

Currently, customs checks are being carried out on the fact of violation.

In accordance with Article 246 of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan, smuggling of potent, toxic, poisonous, explosive substances, radioactive materials, explosive devices, weapons, firearms or ammunition is punishable by imprisonment of five to ten years.
