Procedure for the return of children who have lost parental care abroad defined
A government resolution on improving the return order of children of Uzbek citizens, who lost parental care abroad, into the country has been adopted, the Ministry of Justice reports.
In accordance with the decree:
- children, who lost parental care abroad, are returned to Uzbekistan by the Ministry of Internal Affairs;
- the return to Uzbekistan of children under the age of 3 years is organized jointly with the Ministry of Health;
- in the absence of a document confirming the identity of these children, their belonging to the citizenship of Uzbekistan is confirmed by diplomatic missions and consular offices of Uzbekistan abroad.
The provision approved by the decree defines the procedure for the return of children, who have lost parental care abroad.
According to the regulation, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Ministry of Health are determined as the authorized bodies for the return of children, who have lost their parents in foreign countries.
This activity will be coordinated by the Main Department for Prevention of Crimes under the Interior Ministry.
