1 dead, 1 injured after explosion at gas station in Jizzakh

In Jizzakh region, an explosion occurred at a gas filling station, killing one of the employees of the station, the Investigation Department reported.

“On January 16, at about 11:30, an explosion occurred at the gas filling station “Gaz manbai”, located in the Yangikhayot mahalla of the Zarbdor district. An explosion occurred during repair work due to gas leakage,” the report reads.

As a result of the explosion, an employee of the station, 40-year-old Sh. A. died on the spot. Another 44-year-old worker E. I. was hospitalized with various bodily injuries.

An investigative-operational group is working at the scene. The causes of the explosion are being established.
