China remains main trading partner of Uzbekistan in 2019
China has strengthened its role as the main trading partner of Uzbekistan, follows from the data of the State Statistics Committee.
At the end of 2019, foreign trade amounted to $42.2 billion, which was a record in the history of the country. Of this amount, $17.9 billion accounted for exports, $24.3 billion - for imports.
The main trading partner was China - $7.6 billion. Of these, exports amounted to $2.9 billion, imports - $5.1 billion. China’s share in the total foreign trade grew up to 18.1%.
For comparison, last year trade with China amounted to $6.4 billion ($2.8 billion - export, $3.5 billion - import), and the share was 19%.
Russia is in the second place with $6.6 billion. Of these, $2.4 billion - export, $4.1 billion - import (share - 15.7%). In the third place, Kazakhstan - $3.3 billion ($1.4 billion - export, $1.9 billion - import).
Earlier, it was reported that China ranks first among countries from which Uzbekistan borrowed funds (20.6%).
