People in Uzbekistan imported foreign-made cars for $440 million in 2019
Import of passenger cars continued to grow in 2019, the State Statistics Committee reported.
If in 2018, citizens of Uzbekistan spent $319 million on imported cars, then in 2019, this figure reached $440 million. For comparison, it was $155 million in 2017, $193 million - in 2016, $120 million - in 2015, and $212 million - in 2014.
Earlier, AvtoVAZ noted that people began to import more cars into the country. According to the results of 2019, Lada sales in Uzbekistan increased 2.5 times - from 2.6 thousand cars to 6.6 thousand in comparison to 2018.
Throughout 2019, there was a tax privilege on the import of expensive foreign-made cars and electric vehicles. On January 1, 2020, this privilege was canceled.
Previously, it was reported that customs duties on the import of electric buses, trucks and motorbikes have been abolished.
