Uzbekistan, UK plan to expand trade, economic and investment cooperation
On February 10, 2020, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan Said Rustamov met in London with the UK Minister for Investment at the Department for International Trade, Graham Stuart.
According to the press service of the MFA, the current state of bilateral relations and prospects for expanding trade, economic and investment cooperation were discussed at the meeting.
The British side noted the significant successes of our country in conducting comprehensive reforms, in particular in the field of economic liberalization and increasing investment attractiveness. This achievement, which has already been reflected in UN’s Doing Business report, as well as the recognition of Uzbekistan as the “Country of the Year” by the leading British magazine The Economist, opens up great opportunities for increasing bilateral trade and investment, expanding cooperation in technological financial and educational spheres.
The parties also examined the practical implementation of a number of joint activities planned for the near future, including the meeting of the Uzbek-British Council on Industry and Trade in London, as well as the participation of UK representatives in the Tashkent International Investment Forum.
