Latvia expresses readiness in enhancing bilateral trade-economic relations with Uzbekistan
On February 20, 2020, Ambassador of Uzbekistan Kadambay Sultanov met with the Head of Bilateral Relations Directorate at the Latvian MFA Ilgvars Kļava, in Riga.
During the conversation, the parties discussed prospects for Uzbek-Latvian cooperation in various fields. An exchange of views took place on upcoming bilateral contacts and interaction within the framework of international structures, including the UN.
Ilgvars Kļava noted that Latvia is ready to jointly enhance bilateral relations, implementing practical projects, including in the trade, economic, investment and technological fields.
The parties also emphasized the importance of enhancing cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian fields. The Latvian side is interested in enhancing educational exchanges and advocates the continuation of mutually beneficial relations in such areas as the use of clean technologies, training and professional development of specialists at the Riga Graduate School of Law, as well as within the framework of the European Union’s BOMCA program.
