Turkish university branch to open in Tashkent
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan has signed a memorandum on the establishment of the TOBB University of Economics and Technology branch in Tashkent.
Within the framework of the official visit of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Turkey, on February 19, a joint statement was signed in Ankara.
According to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, in recent years, representatives of Turkish business circles have expanded their activities in Uzbekistan. In 2019, the bilateral trade turnover exceeded $2.5 billion.
A number of agreements on trade-economic relations between the two countries were also discussed during the event. In particular, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) have signed a Memorandum on the opening of TOBB University of Economics and Technology branch in Tashkent.
The initiative of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan to open a branch of the Turkish University was put forward and agreed during the Business Forum of Turkic Speaking States held in October 2019, in Tashkent.
A branch of the university, which is planned to open in the capital, will train specialists in business and entrepreneurship on the basis of dual education system.
