Uzbekistan among countries with lowest internet speed

Uzbekistan is ranked among the countries where internet speed is considerably low, follows from the data provided by websitetooltester.com.

“Fast internet speeds are vital for a strong economy, enabling people to work, do business and socialize online. But which countries are leading the way for their speedy internet connections? We’ve analyzed a series of metrics including download speeds, time taken to download a movie, and percentage change in internet speeds over the last few years, to reveal which countries are investing the most in their internet provisions,” the compilers of the ranking said.

Taiwan, Singapore, Jersey Island (an island in the Gulf of la Manche), Sweden and Denmark are the TOP-5 countries with the fastest internet.

Also, Japan, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Norway, Andorra, Spain, Belgium, USA, Latvia, New Zealand, Estonia, Hong Kong, Hungary and Lithuania entered the TOP-20 list.

In Taiwan, the leader of the rating, the internet speed increased by 147% in 2017-2019. According to websitetooltester.com, a 5-GB movie can be downloaded in Taiwan in just 8 minutes and 2 seconds with an average internet speed of 85 Mbps.

Uzbekistan ranks 181st among 207 countries. The internet speed in Uzbekistan increased by 33.8% in a year and by 80% in two years. In our country, a 5-GB movie can be downloaded in about 8 hours and 18 minutes with an average internet speed of 1.37 Mbps.

Among Central Asian countries, Kazakhstan ranks 113th, Kyrgyzstan - 155th, Tajikistan - 192nd, and Turkmenistan - 203rd.

Equatorial Guinea, East Timor and Yemen - the countries with the lowest internet speed, concluded the rating.
