MTRK leadership changes
Several important changes occurred in the leadership of the National Television and Radio Company of Uzbekistan (MTRK), the Ministry of Justice reported.
Alisher Khadjayev has been appointed chairman of the MTRK. Since 2017, he has been serving as the acting chairman of MTRK.
Madamin Safarov, who previously used to work as a director of the “Uzbekistan 24” TV channel, has been appointed his deputy.
TV broadcasting is actively developing in Uzbekistan.
Over the past year, the republic proposed creating several television channels dedicated to the culture, history and study of foreign languages, as well as various sciences. Initiatives were also launched to create channels for children, which could become an additional tool for development.
More recently, the Deputy PM and the head of the State Tourism Committee, Aziz Abdukhakimov, proposed the creation of a new television channel (“Tourism 365”) in Uzbekistan.
