Uzbekistan to take measures to provide tax-payment deadline deferrals in a number of areas
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev instructed the special working group to take measures to provide tax-payment deadline deferrals in such areas as tourism, transport, pharmaceuticals and light industry, to postpone loan payment deadlines, and not to impose penalties on deferring external debt payments. The President noted this on his address to the people on the issue of coronavirus.
“The government should develop and implement a special program to support large-scale enterprises and industries in these difficult times.
First of all, we have to avoid destabilization in the financial market and market of raw materials.
Secondly, it is necessary to maintain financial stability and prevent price growth in the markets.
Third, we need to keep the core sectors of our economy uninterrupted.
This requires each sector, enterprise and region to act specifically and accurately.
Fourth, centralized support of the population and regional budgets must be our priority,” Mirziyoyev said.
The President noted that Uzbekistan’s activities on tackling the coronavirus issue are based on the principles of transparency.
“We keep the world community and our people informed in a timely manner. We will further adopt the necessary measures,” said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
