Mirziyoyev, Rahmon discuss issues of cooperation to prevent the spread of coronavirus in the region
On April 3, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.
The parties exchanged sincere congratulations and warmest wishes on the occasion of the traditional spring holiday Navruz.
Mirziyoyev and Rahmon discussed current issues of bilateral cooperation and considered promising areas for expanding partnership, primarily in trade-economic, investment, banking-financial and cultural-educational spheres.
The importance of practical implementation of the agreements reached, including the adopted roadmap between Tashkent and Dushanbe, accelerating the creation of a joint fund to promote mutually beneficial cooperation projects in various sectors of the economy, was noted.
Particular attention was paid to issues of interaction and close coordination in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection and effectively counteract the consequences of a pandemic in the region.
The sides expressed mutual support for the priority preventive measures being taken in the countries and for taking control over the epidemiological situation. The importance of continuing active cooperation in the fight against coronavirus was emphasized.
