Bahrom Ashrafkhanov appointed Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Azerbaijan
Former Executive Director of the Off-budgetary Pension Fund under the Ministry of Finance Bahrom Ashrafkhanov has been appointed Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.
“On April 14, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Azerbaijan, Bahrom Ashrafkhanov, who previously worked as the Executive Director of the Off-budgetary Pension Fund, departed for Baku from Tashkent,” the report said.
Ashrafkhanov was appointed Executive Director of the Off-budgetary Pension Fund in September 2019. He left this post in March 2020.
From 2002 to 2016, Bahrom Ashrafkhanov worked in the system of the Ministry of Finance. In particular, in 2005-2007, he served as the First Deputy Minister of Finance, in 2007-2016 – Head of the Treasury.
In 2016-2018, Ashrafkhanov was Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to the Russian Federation. In September 2018, he was appointed Board Chairman of Uzbekneftegaz.
Bahrom Ashrafkhanov was born in 1969. He is a graduate of Tashkent State University of Economics with a degree in International Monetary Relations. From 1993 to 1994, he studied at the University of Kentucky (USA).
