Uzbekistan’s foreign trade turnover down by nearly $1.3bn
The foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan reached $10.8 billion in January-April 2020, the State Statistics Committee reported.
Compared to the same period last year, the indicator decreased by $1,297.1 million.
Of the total foreign trade turnover, exports reached $4.4 billion (compared to January-April 2019, a decrease of 10.6% was noted), and imports – $6.4 billion (a decrease of 10.8%). A passive balance of foreign trade in the amount of $1,989.4 million was recorded.
Among the 20 major partner countries, there is an active foreign trade balance with only six, in particular with Afghanistan ($213.7 million), Kyrgyzstan ($138.8 million), Tajikistan ($93.7 million), Turkey ($42.8 million), France ($23.6 million) and Iran ($8 million). With the remaining 14 countries, a passive balance of foreign trade is maintained.
