Alisher Kurmanov becomes Uzbekistan’s new Ambassador to Ukraine
Alisher Kurmanov has been appointed Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Ukraine.
“On June 13, the newly appointed ambassador of Uzbekistan to Ukraine Alisher Kurmanov left Tashkent for Kyiv,” the press service of the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
Prior to his appointment, Kurmanov served as chairman of the Senate Committee of Oliy Majlis on issues of International Relations, Foreign Economic Relations, Foreign Investments and Tourism.
Earlier he also worked as the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to the UK.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ukraine is one of the largest foreign trade partners of Uzbekistan.
Bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and Ukraine are based on a solid legal base consisting of 142 treaties and agreements governing cooperation in various fields.
