Ganiyev, Baishenov discuss accelerating construction of China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway
On July 1, Transport Minister of Uzbekistan, Elyor Ganiyev, and his Kyrgyz counterpart Janat Baishenov had a telephone conversation, during which they discussed issues related to the acceleration of the construction of China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway.
According to the press service of the Ministry, the sides reached an agreement on the advisability of holding another videoconference to discuss specific issues related to the route selection and other technical and financial conditions of the parameters of realizing this crucial project.
“During the next week, in agreement with the Chinese side, it is planned to hold a regular session through a videoconference at the ministerial level in order to speed up the implementation process,” the press service added.
In addition, the parties discussed the improvement of the multimodal transport corridor Lianyungang-Lanzhou-Kashgar-Irkeshtam-Osh-Andijan, which is important for boosting the trade between Central Asia and the Asia-Pacific region.
