When can Uzbekistan get rid of coronavirus? Health Minister Shadmanov answers
If all residents comply with the quarantine requirements, then Uzbekistan will be able to get rid of coronavirus in 2-3 months, the Minister of Health Alisher Shadmanov said.
“So far, many scientists have offered their predictions, but their assumptions were incorrect. Therefore, I wouldn’t want to have a guess on that. It is very difficult to give a concrete answer,” Shadmanov said.
The Minister emphasized that everything depends on people, since in Uzbekistan, as in other countries, the relevant departments require to wear masks, observe social distance and sanitary as well as hygiene rules.
“Everything depends on us, our people. There are certain rules. If they are complied with, we will be able to overcome this disease. Only in this case can we get rid of the disease in 2-3 months. Otherwise, the virus may remain for many years,” he said.
Speaking about the peak, the Minister said that Uzbekistan is not at the peak of infection yet.
“No, we are not at the peak of infection yet. It continues to grow,” he concluded.
