Two injured as drunk driver rums into a roadside shop in Tashkent

According to the Traffic Safety Department of Tashkent, on the night of September 17, a 31-year-old intoxicated driver, Farukh T., lost control over his Lacetti car and crashed into a roadside shop.
The incident took place near the intersection of Chinor and Kurgontepa Streets in the capital’s Sergeli district.
The driver also hit two pedestrians standing by the road and then collided with a Spark car parked nearby.
It is noted that the man exceeded the speed limit.
“Upon the arrival of the operational-investigative group at the scene, eyewitnesses reported that the driver tried to flee from the scene of the accident, but he was detained,” the report reads.
As a result of the road accident, both pedestrians, who received bodily injuries, were hospitalized. A criminal case was initiated under Part 1, Article 266 of the Criminal Code. Currently, an investigation is ongoing.
