10,000 Uzbek migrants to be repatriated from Volgograd on nine special trains

Nine passenger trains will be sent to Volgograd in the end of October - the beginning of November for the repatriation of Uzbek citizens from Russia, Interfax reports.

“The trains will depart from Volzhsky station on October 22, 23, 25, 26, 28, 29, 31, and on November 1 and 2 at 21:57. Each train has 20 wagons and accommodates 938 passengers. On the territory of the Russian Federation, trains will travel without stopping,” the statement reads.

It is noted that passengers may purchase tickets at any railway register presenting documents confirming Uzbek citizenship. Train tickets are also available online.

It was previously reported that the Transport Ministry of the Russian Federation and the Russian Railways organized ten special trains to transport Uzbek citizens from Russia on September 25 and 29, and on October 1, 5, 8, 11, 12, 15, 18. In total, more than 11,000 Uzbek migrants have returned to their homeland. 

In addition, since the beginning of September, with the help of the authorities of Rostov, more than 8,000 Uzbek migrants from other regions of the Russian Federation who were accommodated in tent camps near the train stations returned home on specially organized trains.
