Abdulaziz Kamilov meets with USAID Acting Administrator John Barsa
On November 16, Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov, who is on a visit to the United States, met with the head of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) John Barsa.
According to the press service of the Foreign Ministry, during the meeting, a thorough exchange of views took place on the development of joint projects aimed at the economic development of Uzbekistan, strengthening the export potential of agricultural products, improving the management and efficient use of water resources, changing the situation in the Aral Sea region for the better.
John Barsa noted the agency’s commitment to further support the large-scale reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan.
In addition, the parties confirmed their interest in the implementation of USAID regional projects within the framework of the C5+1 format, in particular the ones directed to the active involvement of Afghanistan in the economic processes in Central Asia.
The head of USAID expressed his readiness to visit Uzbekistan in the near future.
