MPs adopt the bill On State Budget for 2021
On December 1, a regular meeting of the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis was held, deputies considered in the second reading the draft law “On the State Budget of Uzbekistan for 2021”.
At the meetings of the factions, the responsible committee and the working group, 23 amendments were made to 9 articles of the draft law, 2 articles were supplemented, a new addendum was introduced. In addition, according to the deputies’ proposals, the draft budget for 2021 will additionally allocate 100 billion soums for equipping secondary schools, 32.5 billion soums – for the El-Yurt Umidi Fund and 5 billion soums – for updating and replenishing the Library Fund in information and library centers.
The deputies recommended reconsidering the possibility of increasing budgetary funds allocated to education and upbringing of the younger generation.
At the meeting, Minister of Finance Timur Ishmetov, representatives of relevant ministries and departments answered in detail the questions of parliamentarians.
The bill was passed by the deputies and sent to the Senate.
