Chinese-made electric buses being tested in Tashkent

In order to switch to eco-friendly fuels in the future, Toshshahartransxizmat JSC is testing electric buses of several countries in the capital.

Starting from November 20, two such electric buses are running on route No. 51, which connects the 6th block of Yunusabad and the Beshyogoch block. Kun.uz correspondent reports.

Both electric buses are manufactured by 2 different Chinese companies and are currently serving passengers on a trial basis.

The electric bus manufactured by Zhong Tong Dus is powered in 2 hours and travels 250 km with this power. It is designed for up to 110 passengers.

The electric bus produced by BYD is powered in 4 hours and will cover a distance of 200 km. It is designed for up to 76 passengers in total. Its length – 12 meters.

The heating and cooling systems of the electric buses automatically control the temperature inside the cabin.

There are special seats for people with disabilities.

Electric buses have an additional power section, it will be used when the main support section is not working. Both electric buses are equipped with cameras: front, rear, roof and cabin are monitored at 360 degrees.

In the event of an emergency, an alarm system is activated on the electric buses. In addition, when pressing the lane, or when the distance is not maintained with the surrounding vehicles, the driver is alerted.

For information, according to the 10-year Concept of Environmental Protection, at least 50% of public transport in Uzbekistan should switch to alternative fuels to reduce emissions.

SamAuto plant is expected to start producing electric buses in 2 years.

Additionally, 300 large-capacity city electric buses can be delivered to Tashkent in the next 3 years.
