Death toll continues to rise in Uzbekistan due to gas explosions: 15-year-old girl dead in Khiva
A 15-year-old girl died as a result of a gas explosion in Khiva, Khorezm region. The incident happened on January 8 at 03:41.
The explosion destroyed the house and led to a fire in the residential building, the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.
At 04:50, the search and rescue team found the body of a girl (born in 2005). Her father was taken to the hospital with 22% of burns on his face and hands.
The alleged cause of the incident is a violation of the rules for the use of gas appliances.
Representatives of the Internal Affairs Directorate, the Department of Emergency Situations, the Ministry of Health and other relevant government bodies are working on the spot. The regional khokim has also visited the site.
