Khokim of Syrdarya region goes on short leave

Khokim of the Syrdarya region Gofurjon Mirzayev went on short-term leave to undergo medical examination and treatment, the press service of the regional administration reported.

The last time Mirzayev appeared in public was on January 15. A day earlier, rumors spread on social networks that the Kayrakkum Reservoir, located on the territory of neighboring Tajikistan, allegedly collapsed. He had to visit Sardoba, Mirzaabad and Akaltin districts of the region to meet with the people and calm them down as it was a fake report.

Earlier, the khokim of the Samarkand region Erkinjon Turdimov went on a short-term vacation to restore his health.
