Air ticket office director selling fake medical documents for traveling abroad detained in Tashkent

Law enforcement officers of Tashkent have detained the director of the “Humo trans” air ticket office, who sold fake documents to enable citizens to travel to Russia for alleged “medical treatment”.

“On January 13, during joint actions of the staff of the Department for Combating Corruption and Economic Crimes and the State Security Service, the head of the air ticket office “Humo trans” located on Shota Rustaveli Street in Tashkent was detained when receiving $1,450 from a citizen. The manager gained the trust of the citizen and assured him that he would cooperate in the preparation of a medical document, which may serve as the basis for traveling to Russia,” the Office for Combating Corruption and Economic Crimes informed.

In the course of the investigations carried out, it was revealed that the man had previously deceived 79 people with this method, taking $1,200 for each document (total - $94,800).

On January 13, the Investigation Department of the Tashkent Internal Affairs Department filed a criminal charge against the man under Article 168 of the Criminal Code and ordered his arrest. Criminal proceedings are ongoing.
