Ambassador of Bangladesh to Uzbekistan urges the country to resume recruiting Bangladeshi workers
The Embassy of Bangladesh in Tashkent has urged Uzbekistan to resume the recruitment of Bangladeshi workers in different companies in the Republic.
The call was voiced by the Ambassador of Bangladesh to Uzbekistan Md Zahangir Alam on Wednesday, January 20, at a meeting with the Advisor to the Board Chairman of ERIELL Group for the Middle East, former Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Iran Ilhom Akramov and Deputy Director of the Enter Engineering Pte. Ltd Jahangir Nazrullayev.
“During the meeting, he also requested to take back the rest 649 out of 888 skilled workers whose visas have already been issued by the Government of Uzbekistan and health checkups and other formalities have already been done at the Bangladeshi end,” the Newage Bangladesh IA reports.
In response, Ilhom Akramov assured Zahangir Alam of resuming the recruitment of Bangladeshi workers after completing the assessment of the total workforce required for their company.
It should be reminded that earlier a number of MPs opposed the recruitment of labor migrants from abroad, saying that the unemployment rate in the country is high and citizens of Uzbekistan themselves are in need of work.
