Share of CIS countries in Uzbekistan’s FTT declining for third year in a row
In January-December 2020, the share of CIS countries in the foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan was 32.6%, the share of EAEU member states – 27.1%.
According to the State Statistics Committee, in 2020, the share of CIS countries in the country’s foreign trade turnover decreased by 2% compared to the corresponding period of 2019.
In 2018, FTT with CIS countries was 36.3%, in 2019 – 34.6%. In recent years, the figures are only declining.
Last year, the total trade turnover with the CIS countries amounted to $11.83 billion, of which exports – $4.09 billion and imports – $7.73 billion. Passive foreign trade turnover amounted to $3.64 billion.
In turn, the total foreign trade turnover with the EAEU member states amounted to $9.82 billion (27.1% of total FTT), of which exports – $3.17 billion (21% of total exports) and imports – $6.65 billion (31.4% of total imports). Passive foreign trade turnover amounted to $3.48 billion.
It should be reminded that on December 11, 2020, Uzbekistan received observer status in the Eurasian Economic Union.
Earlier, it was reported that the country’s foreign trade turnover in 2020 amounted to $36.3 billion, decreasing by $5.4 billion (13.1%) compared to the same period in 2019.
