Nurmat Otabekov answers whether British COVID-19 strain has spread among population
Nurmat Otabekov, Deputy Head of the Sanitary and Epidemiological Welfare and Public Health Service, has answered the question of whether the British strain of coronavirus has spread among the residents of Uzbekistan.
It should be recalled that Uzbekistan recently registered the first case of the British COVID-19 strain in the country. The virus was found in the analysis of a 10-year-old girl who returned with her family from the UAE on January 23.
“The patient with the British strain was isolated at the airport and hospitalized, no complications were observed,” he said during the AIMC briefing.
“Our success lies in the fact that we took control of the source of the disease at the airport and we did not allow it to spread to people,” he concluded.
Previously, the head of the Sanitary and Epidemiological Welfare and Public Health Service, Bakhodir Yusupaliyev stated that if citizens do not comply with the necessary sanitary rules, then the country may take measures to tighten quarantine.
