Government plans to involve private sector in road safety
The draft resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers “On measures to attract the private sector in the field of road safety” has been announced.
In accordance with the presidential decree, from March 1, 2021, business entities have the right to install photo-radar cameras to record traffic violations on highways.
Reportedly:
• installation of special automated photo and video recording software and hardware, as well as maintenance and uninterrupted operation of stationary substations for weight and size control, including reimbursement of current electricity and communication channels is carried out independently by businesses;
• the installed special automated photo and video recording software and hardware, as well as stationary weight and dimensional control stations will be left at the balance of business entities in the future, ensuring mandatory integration with the “Safe City” system.
The decree says that 25% of the money received from fines will be transferred to the bank account of the entrepreneur.
